From June to mid-September of 2005, my birding photography shifted to documenting a pair of Central Park Red-tailed Hawks and their two offspring. Their nest was on Central Park South and their territory included the southwest portion of the park and a large area of midtown and the upper west side.
Click on the link below to view my gallery of Red-tailed Hawk photographs from the summer of 2005. All the photographs were taken with a Canon 20D digital SLR and either a Canon 100-400mm L, Canon 70-200 f4.0 L or Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 zoom lens.
I'm also created a 50 copy limited edition book of these photographs. There is a link to the book in PDF format below. To read it, you'll need Adobe's Acrobat Reader which is available free of charge on the Adobe web site. It's a very large file and will take a few minutes to download even with a high-speed connection.
